Despite the limited resources of the region, Berber women wove beautiful carpet. They get colors from natural dyes from vegetable plants. Sharing certain characteristics with R’bati Carpet, Taznakht Carpet consists of a field and a medallion in the center surrounded by one or more managers.
These translate alone outside influences primarily those of the caravan. Often providing a frame and a yellow background, the Berber women who wove the carpet had at their disposal a plant named ‘weld’ which provided yellow colorations. This plant is well known in the region. It contains a rotating root that allows it to withstand periods of drought that knows the area.
